WHO WE ARE
A Partner in Building Thriving Communities
Akhani (verb) - Xhosa for "Build"
Akhani Consulting is a black-woman owned, Twin Cities-based, consulting company founded by Busisiwe Hands.
A South African native now living in North Minneapolis, Minnesota, Busisiwe is a community development graduate with a passion for community-led change. She has experience in program development and management has spent her career working in the non-profit sector.
The mission of Akhani Consulting is to partner with non-profit start-ups, established non- profits and businesses to help them design, implement and monitor programs that are relevant to their communities’ needs.
We believe that all communities have assets that can help them grow from the inside hence we seek to partner with organizations that are led by community insiders and businesses that value community involvement.
We believe that community development is a collaborative effort and aim to not only to deliver excellent results to our clients but to connect them to other resources that can help them succeed.
